The intention of the National History Museum in Seoul is to give the scattered artifact of korean culture a place.

The appearance of our proposal is derived from the differentiation of exhibitions, auditoriums, visitor services, administration and storage into separate building volumes. The public programs are accommodate within the ellipsoid building shapes, connected by tubes that melt them together into three main volumes. Administration, workshops and storage are assign to the simple, orthogonal building volumes. The different building are enclosed by a glass box that provides a microclimate and enables the in-between space to be used as a boulevard around the year. Escalators provide the vertical circulation from the outside to the boulevard and from there to the public facilities. The entire museum is raised above the ground to prevent flooding, which makes it hovering above the park.
