The facade renovation of the department store of Karstadt in Berlin was focused on the modernization of the building appearance and a visual access of the activities inside the department store.
A main transformation was the extensive glass facade in front of the restaurant which links it to the urban space outside. Additionally small openings in the facade allow various views to the city and appear like small advertisement animations of the activities inside.
